A group of friends on a road trip seek shelter at a mental institution in the woods only to discover that the building is the home of a mysterious young girl named roxy whose unsettling presence serves as a foreshadow of doom. There was one condition total freedom on the part of the director. H block is set against the real story of the breakout from the maximum security maze prison in 1983 which saw 38 ira prisoners escape and only 19 ever recaptured and 20 guards shot or stabbed with one dying. That s unfortunate because forbidden experiments in psychiatric hospitals are fertile ground for some of the best supernatural horror stories and my favorite genre.
